Love of Words to an Extraordinary Level

Goals rarely lift off paper unless something drastic is done.

I’ve always loved stringing words elegantly together all the time, as far back as my teenage years. As part of the goals I intend to crush in 2021, mastering the business side of writing–professional writing–is what I set my eyes on to achieve. I promised myself last year’s November that I must take the love of words (writing) to an extraordinary level at the turn of the year.

In order to make this goal realistic, I try to leverage efforts of those ahead of me who are truly making waves in this domain. I want to key into established systems that consistently work and produce convincing results. I believe it’s the best approach to winning in life.

Instead of groping in the darkness trying to figure it out myself, I want the illumination that comes from men and women life has satisfactorily proven to have time-honoured distinctions in their chosen fields.

Good enough, on Tuesday, 5th January 2021, I made the big move and enrolled in the class for the course. Actually, I paid the price once and for all. The course is #WriteWithFlair hosted by Mr Damilola Jonathan Oladeji on professional writing.

He’s a master in this game and my heart really connects with him whenever he shares his stories on social media and comments on contemporary issues.

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, Mr Jonathan is an established author as well as an entrepreneur. In fact, he is a sought after international freelancer. He frequently writes at his content-filled website jonathanoladeji.com and works on many known freelance platforms.

For a month or so, I shall be plunging myself into the pool of writing challenge. I know I’m going to stretch myself a whole lot but it’s what I need now especially as an expert is about to hold my hand and drill me on.

Each day I must come up with a new interesting piece of writing as part of the instructions so as to mark off the objectives of this course.

Here is where I sincerely need your help now as my reader and audience. When I post a new writing challenge a day with the hashtags #WriteHeart and #WriteWithFlair I’d like you to give your honest feedback as well as constructive criticism concerning it, especially if you’re a great writer, in the comment box.

And my writing challenge will be posted on Medium: www.medium.com/oluwatobiodede; on Facebook: www.facebook.com/oluwatobiodede1 and ultimately on Twitter: www.twitter.com/Oluwatobi_Odede.

On a final note, one of the best ways to personal growth and development is to start a journey that stretches us in the most impactful manner. And it’s by setting goals and meeting them within a timeframe.

This year alone, I’ve crushed two of my set goals in the areas of career and personal development and growth, and counting. There are eight areas of our lives to which we must set clarified goals if we’re to live a richer, fuller and meaningful life, not only for a year but also for the rest of our lives. This is known as holistic goal setting, touching every facet of our lives holistically.

Remember, nothing moves except you do. Goals rarely lift off paper unless something drastic is done. Time is already ticking away because the year has hit the ground running. Go and put your goals into plans and actions.
